Service Area
From brownstone Brooklyn to the waterfront, we know how water, fire, and mold move through these buildings, and we are based right here.
Local Knowledge
Brooklyn is where we started and where most of our work is. We know its building stock cold: landmarked brownstones with finished garden levels and century-old plumbing, prewar co-ops, dense row-house blocks, converted lofts, and the low-lying waterfront in places like Red Hook, Sheepshead Bay, and Coney Island that floods when the tide and the storms line up. That local knowledge is why we find hidden damage others miss. Own or manage a walk-up or a larger building? See how we handle jobs for multifamily buildings.
What We Do in Brooklyn
Garden-level units and finished basements take the hit first. In a brownstone, a leak upstairs can run down three floors before anyone sees it. We trace where it went with meters and a thermal camera, then dry it.
Water Damage in BrooklynBasements and windowless bathrooms in older Brooklyn buildings hold moisture year round. We contain the area, remove the growth, and fix the moisture problem behind it, under our NY State mold license.
Mold Remediation in BrooklynIn attached row houses, smoke rarely stays in one home. It moves through shared walls and the cockloft. We clean and deodorize what can be saved, remove what can't, and rebuild.
Fire & Smoke in BrooklynBrooklyn's older blocks run on combined sewers, so heavy rain can push sewage back up through basement drains. We extract it, remove contaminated materials, and disinfect before anything is rebuilt.
Sewage Cleanup in BrooklynA storefront downstairs and apartments above means one leak can hit a business and several tenants at once. We work with the owner, the tenants and the managing agent so the job moves without confusion.

Rain And Sewers
Under much of the city, the same pipe carries both. DEP says about 60 percent of New York City has a combined sewer system, a single pipe for stormwater runoff and sewage from buildings.
When a hard rain sends more than that pipe can take, it can back up into the lowest drain in a house. Water that comes up a drain is sewage, not rain, so everything it touched gets handled as contaminated.
In a row house or brownstone, it usually comes up the floor drain or a basement toilet. DEP maintains the sewer main, and the owner maintains the service line from the house.
If it comes up through a drain, report it to 311; DEP says it inspects within six hours of the complaint. After that, 646-543-2242 reaches All Star Restoration for the cleanup, from Greenpoint down to Coney Island.

Questions
Call us, then the building or the upstairs neighbor so the source gets shut off. We can start drying your unit and documenting the damage while the source is fixed. Take photos of everything before anything is moved.
We clean up, dry the space and check for mold after each event. Stopping it for good usually takes a plumber installing a backwater valve or a waterproofing contractor. We can tell you which one the damage points to.
Yes. Drying and demolition are interior work. If the rebuild touches anything Landmarks regulates, like the facade or windows, that needs approval first, and we will tell you before we touch it.
